Designing your own clothes

I remember when my parents would say "You can't get that shirt" or "No, you can't wear that." It always got kind of annoying. Also, the stuff in my size was always way too flashy or had a a huge bow of flower on the front.  But, the other day I realized that I could make my own clothes. It's really easy to do, too.  Picking out the fabric you want is the most fun part. You can choose from a million things. Once you have chosen your fabric, you need to sew it together. Use your body as a measure, to make an even better fit. Basicly cut two shirt shapes in the fabric. Then sew them together, but make sure you sew them in a way so you can have shirt holes. Finally, in the sewing together part, you must turn the sirt inside out so that you dont see the seem. Then, add some designs if you want them. You don't have to, but it is fun to. I prefer to have small simple designs, like a knot at the bottom, a word or two on the front (cut out the shapes of the letters and sew them on the front.), etc.

  1. I love the detail--don't forget the holes! Quite philosophical, really. Without the holes, you just have a bag, not a shirt. Just like notes without the silence in between is noise instead of music.

  2. I wish I had the things to make my own clothes. I'd start a new fashion wage!
